This Aluminized 8mm version (standard weight) of Sonic Sponge™ also provides Thermal Conductivity, and reflects up to 90% of radiant heat. Originally developed to insulate passenger compartments from unwanted road noise, and engine and transmission heat. Designed for use on Firewall, Floorboard, Body Panels, Transmission Tunnel, Hood and Roof. For automotive installation use fasteners
or High Temperature Spray adhesives.

Fiber reinforced Aluminum foil backing bonded to synthetic base with temperature resistant adhesive. This is not your basic non-woven fabric! Advanced needle punched interlocked manufacturing process makes this material flexible, dimensionally stable, with a tensile strength of 65 lbs. Will not stretch, "feather out", or curl on the corners. 100% synthetic construction means this material will not create odors or support the growth of mold and mildew.
Easy to install; flexible and drapes well to conform to curves and contours.
In addition to automotive & sound system use, this material is an excellent choice for thickening, stiffening and insulating fabric panels of luggage, packs and pouches. Unlike rubber foam, this material has no hard-to-get-rid-of solvent odors that may affect those with sensitivity to volatile organic compounds. This material is also much more flexible than foam, and will not "spring" back into shape, it has a tendency to stay in whatever shape it was last handled.
