60 weight (50mm = 2″ inch width)
This thinner, more flexible 2″ coated webbing features a herring bone weave webbing with a 0.060″ coating of TPU polymer, more flexible than the 80 weight material.
Looks similar to polished leather but the herring bone weave pattern is clearly visible when when looking at the glossy reflection from the material. This entirely synthetic material requires none of the maintenance required to keep leather this shiny and polished.
A high tech, proprietary Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) coating completely encapsulates the high strength base material in a polymer that is more durable, but similar to the material used to make the cases and skins for cameras and iPhones.
Easy to clean and disinfect with an inherent resistance to Chlorine Bleach and most common cleaning chemicals makes this webbing ideal for use in potentially messy applications like food service (not for direct food contact), healthcare industries, and industrial cleanup operations.
Base belt material is a durable Polyethylene webbing with a breaking strength of 1,000 lbs. Overall thickness of the 60 weight is 0.060″ (1.52mm). Note: lengths over 100 feet may not be one continuous piece.
This material was extensively tested in accordance with ASTM methods and is superior to uncoated webbing and leather in every way. Excellent for outdoor, underwater, and cold weather use. Stays flexible down to -68F below zero. On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest) this material rates a 6 for Ultraviolet light resistance, and a 8 for abrasion resistance. Sometimes called plastic coated webbing or rubber webbing because of it's flex characteristics.
Resists acids, gasoline, oil, lye / caustic soda, sea water and chlorine bleach. Can be sewn, ultrasonic welded, riveted and secured with screws, nuts and washers.
