PTD Snaps also known as "Pull the Dot" type or Directional Pull Snaps. This specialized type of snap fastener is used in applications where the item being fastened may encounter unintended pulling from one direction that would have a tendency to open regular snaps. By using PTD snaps, the user must pull the snap in a pre-set direction. If the snap is pulled from another direction it will not open.

Direction of Pull is selected at time of snap installation and is limited to a 90 degree quadrant. Direction of pull can not be changed after snap Socket & Button/ Cap installation. Note: this direction of pull is only used for illustrative purposes. Actual Direction of Pull is determined by orientation of DOP Tab located in Snap Socket Component Please read MILSPEC Snap installation instructions carefully prior to attempting installation. Also Note: red coloring on Button / Cap is for illustrative purposes, snap components do not have red coloring.
